Teachers with valid ID* are invited to visit The James Museum free of charge during the whole month of July, 2020Wander the galleries, soak in the stunning landscapes and explore the stories told by the art.

*Must present one of the following: a valid school/institution ID, verification of employment on school letterhead, school business card, or approval from The James Museum Education Department.

Last admission ticket sold at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday-Monday and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

SPECIAL PRICING

Every Tuesday admission for adults over the the age of 18 is $10. Tuesday admission for visitors ages 7-18 is $5 and children 6 & under are free.

tips for visitors

Please stay together. Experiencing the museum is more enjoyable with your family and friends. We suggest adults to hold hands with younger children in the galleries.

Don’t forget to take a map from the admission desk. Plan on where to meet if anyone is separated. A Visitor Service Associate is always around to help.

Look at the art with your eyes and not your hands. We want to keep you and the artwork safe.

Pencils and sketchbooks are the only drawing tools allowed in the galleries.

No food or drink is permitted in the galleries. Please enjoy these inside our café.

Photography is allowed except where noted.  Feel free to share on social media using #thejamesmuseum. No flash photography, tripods, video cameras or selfie sticks, please.

Water fountains and restrooms are located on the first and second floors. Please refer to our museum map or ask a Visitor Service Associate for help. All restrooms are equipped with diaper changing tables, and are ADA accessible.

Backpacks may be worn by adults, on the front of your body. Lockers are provided on the first floor across from the admission desk. Children are not permitted to carry backpacks in the galleries.

Artwork is best conserved at a lower temperature. We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket even if it is warm outside.

Always walk, never run. We don’t want you to miss anything.

We have a quiet space for lactation, prayer, and/or sensory breaks.  Please ask a Visitor Service Associate for assistance.

Standard strollers are allowed in the galleries.

We ask you to review this list and refrain from bringing these items into the museum.

  • Firearms – We are a Gun Free Museum
  • Weapons – including, knives, pocket knives, pin knives, boxcutters
  • Pepper spray/Mace – any kind of aerosols that could damage the artwork.
  • Explosives – including fireworks
  • Hazardous Materials of any kind
  • Drones
  • Balloons
  • Umbrellas
  • Live plants or flowers unless scheduled with our event department.
  • No open flames
  • Other items that The James Museum may consider unsafe for personnel, guests and artwork.

Museum Parking is available on Levels 3 & 4 of the automated South Core Parking Garage located above the museum. Enter at 101 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.

The first hour in the garage is free and $1/hour after that. Please note: special event rates vary and may apply.
